Abstract :
The performance of a fast frequency hopped spread spectrum system is studied. The frequency hopped signal is a combination of multi frequency-multi phase signals and is referred to as fast frequency hopped/joint frequency-phase modulation (FFH/JFPM). A noncoherent receiver for the FFH/JFPM signals is introduced and an exact expression for the bit error is obtained. A performance analysis of this system is given over Rayleigh fading channels. The results show that FFH/JFPM performs better than the conventional FFH systems.
