Abstract :
A linear single-user receiver for a synchronous code-division multiple-access Gaussian channel is proposed. A demodulation sequence supplied by the control center (before any data transmission occurs) is sufficient for the linear receiver to eliminate the multi-user interference without the knowledge of the signature sequences of other users. The error probability of the linear receiver is obtained along with a bound on the error probability which is useful for designing the signature sequences to be employed.
