Abstract :
The article summarizes and introduces into the basic security and reliability considerations for developing distributed software systems in healthcare. It describes security objectives and protection of system assets. Stress is given to the need of risk analysis. Possible system vulnerabilities and system threats are enumerated. Necessary security awareness of humans, typical security and reliability requirements, as well as typical security methods and corresponding infrastructure for application protection, data protection and network protection are reflected.
