Abstract
The paper presents an application of direct current control (DCC) method in a three-phase parallel active power filter. The power filter is employed to compensate fundamental reactive power and harmonic distortion of non-linear loads and due to its inverter-like topology with known parameters in filter branch, the predictive DCC method was implemented to reduce the filter´s commutation frequency. Consequently, the filter branch losses are decreased. Experimental setup based on a TMS320F2407A DSP was used to confirm the theoretical expectations
