Abstract
The aim of this paper is to compare XML processing abilities of standard software solutions and hardware accelerated scenarios using a new generation of XML processing appliances. The emphasis is put on the performance of processing XML documents and on the demandingness of various operations over XML data. The definition of tests involves several testing scenarios governed by a testing group CSVOutput. All tests are executed on our testing framework using the given testing environments and collecting the measures needed for the throughput measure calculation. The results summarize under which circumstances the appliance for hardware accelerated XML processing is worth using and quantify the gain which can be reached when incorporating an appliance to a business network.
