Abstract
Process controllers are to be designed and implemented in an environment of uncertainty in which the model/plant mismatch plays a detrimental role. In this paper, a tuning procedure is presented to account for this mismatch. The new techniques make use of the concept of singular value sensitivities, providing the designer with useful guidelines and tuning directions along which both stability and performance robustness can be effectively improved. The overall procedure is also formulated within an interactive optimization framework. An example illustrates the highlights of the method.
