Near optimal in-loop/post filtering for real time video coding applications

In this work, a near optimal filtering approach for video compression schemes has been presented. The basic idea of the proposed algorithm is to reduce the computational load of the recently proposed optimal filtering approach for video coding in real-time video coding applications while maintaining the visual quality of optimal filtering. Experimental results show that the proposed method can reduce the computational load of optimal filtering and still provide improved video quality compared to standard schemes.
