Abstract
Starting from a microscopic model of an electret, we study a nonlinear partial differential equation describing the space charge evolution process. Under definite initial and boundary conditions the charge transport equation is solved explicity in the small signal case, and the surface potential kinetics are derived. This leads to estimates of the electret conductivity and the concentration of the localized states.
