Position Statement - Interoperable Identity Services: "Challenges of Interoperable Identity Services for Software Services"

With the movement of offering software as a service online, identity issue already becomes a critical issue that determines the success of SaaS (Software-as-a-Service). New research issues and challenges come up because of the unique features and ways on how software services are created and deployed. Given the complication of such scenario, we argue that identity-as-a-service is important and a practical approach to address service identity issues, in particular, those related to the interoperability among identity services.
