Abstract :
This paper presents a new high current low voltage AC/DC power converter family using T connected transformers and nonconventional zigzag series connection of the primary windings. Six, 12, 18 and 24 pulses have been theoretically analyzed and simulated with EMTP package. Experimental results confirm the analytical and simulation results. Due to its simplicity and the absence of interphase transformers, the 12-pulse power converter appears to be a very attractive alternative to more conventional configurations, especially for urban transit applications.
