Abstract
In this paper a new variant of Newton´s method based on power mean for solving nonlinear equations is proposed. The convergence properties of proposed method are discussed and it is shown that the order of convergence for simple roots is three. Performance evaluation of the proposed method is given by numerical experiments performed on the relevant nonlinear equations.
