Abstract :
This paper deals with the impact of harmonic distortion in transformer loss of life, by calculating its hottest spot temperature applying the finite elements approach. This is done by using a digital program entitled EFCAD (Electromagnetic Fields Computer Aided Design). Various cases for typical transformers are presented.
