Abstract :
A new, matrix-based, stochastic method for the cyclic spectral analysis of pulse position modulation with time-hopping multiple access (TH-PPM) ultra-wideband impulse radio (UWB-IR) signals, based on their Markov chain representation, is proposed. Explicit expression for the cyclic spectrum of TH-PPM signal is derived and spectral correlation characterization is performed. Some theoretical and graphed results for the spectral correlation characterization of multiple-access UWB-IR systems with binary pulse position modulation and user specific TH coding are presented, as well.
