            Abstract :
This paper deals with modeling and simulation of important part of a generating block within the frame of Flexible Energy System (FES), particularly furnace, evaporator, mixing header, pipeline, reheater/superheater and turbine. Mathematical model of a reheater/superheater is described in detail in order to demonstrate how the problem is solved and why Matlab & Simulink environment has been chosen, using its powerful S-functions, while other parts of the generating blocks are handled in the same way. It also explains general choice of the software as well as differences between M and C S-functions. Finally it gives a brief description of possibilities of implementation of designed models and algorithms on specific hardware, performing a real-time operation.
