Abstract :
A theoretical investigation of nonstationary charge transport under non-uniform electron heating oflight-induced gratings in bulk GaAs and InP is carried out by Monte Carlo and extended drift-diffusion approaches. An extra light-induced electro-optic contribution based on the formation of Gunn-domainis in transient grating is discovered. Theoretical results are in good agreement with experiments on light self-diffraction performed with nanosecond laser pulses.
