Abstract :
This paper deals with hierarchical modulation technique that can be used in the DVB-T system. The purpose is to provide higher video quality in good receiving conditions and lower video quality in worse receiving conditions, while maintaining low BER rate needed for successful signal decoding. Hierarchical modulation technique is described as well as its simulation. Results of BER dependence on C/N ratio simulated in Matlab are compared to the results of laboratory measurement and are discussed.
