Abstract :
The paper describes the heterodyne detector suitable for the microwave spectroscopy. At the lower frequencies (from the spectroscopic point of view), the measured gas is commonly saturated and the absorption measurement is impossible. The discussed heterodyne detector can measure with high dynamic range exceeding 90 dB. In addition, it enables to measure the weak signals or even very low changes in strong signals.
