Abstract :
In many cases there is a necessity of supplying devices of small power, which are more than a few kilometers distant from the supply network. For example telecommunication devices, devices for pipeline supervision, cathode protective devices, etc. The majority of mentioned devices requires guaranteed supply in 24 hour cycles. For supplying these devices photovoltaic sources can be used. The solar battery supplies electric energy only during day-time. This is the reason why in the supply system there must be a chemical cell, that gives back the energy stored during day-time, supplying devices during the night. Taking into consideration nonuniformity of solar aberration, the quantity of energy supplied by the solar battery can be sometimes insufficient. In that case the system of supply should be equipped with a local generator enabling additional loading of the chemical cell. The devices discussed are often assembled a significant distance from settlements, so remote supervision is necessary. The chemical cell is the critical part of the installation discussed, both because of its price and because of certain operational requirements. In this article a remote supervisory device for a chemical battery is described, which can be used also be used for supervising the operation of the whole installation.
