Abstract :
The importance of the electronic and mechatronic system´s market, technology revolution, explosion of new market competitors, high requirements of embedded systems and many other factors create a situation in which the quality-driven design is a necessity. The aim of this paper is to provide and discuss some theoretical and methodological foundations of the quality-driven design and to consider some important relations between the modern quality concepts and design exploration techniques and tools. Firstly, a new definition of quality is proposed and the quality-driven design paradigm is introduced. Next, a generic model of the quality-driven design space exploration is proposed. Finally, the application of the introduced concepts to the design space exploration is discussed.
