Abstract :
New Generation Optical Access (NGOA) networks based on Wavelength Divided Multiplex (WDM) are very new and currently are being developed by various organizations. In this article we will discuss advantages of the NGOA over current optical access networks and benefits that WDM can offer to network operators. Also this article provides information about challenges and time plane for such type of the networks.
