Abstract
This paper describes mathematical modeling of squirrel cage design AC current shunts. These shunts are designed to have a flat frequency response up to 100 kHz. Model was made using lumped element modeling and then analytical transfer function and input impedance of the shunt were derived from the model. Then these functions have been used in excel where frequency response and input impedance as a function of frequency were calculated. These calculations were then compared to the calibrated values of AC/DC difference and against measured input impedance.
