Abstract
In this paper the problem of edge detection in images of heat-emitting objects is regarded. Especially images of molten specimens of metal are considered. The images were obtained from computerized system for high-temperature measurements of metals and alloys. The method for defining specimen profile with sub-pixel accuracy is presented. Results provided by the proposed method are presented and compared with those given by the traditional approach to edge detection.
