Abstract
Our purpose is to contextualize/put in context the access to digital medical records (DMR), joint to its integration with tools like Tablet PC, so that we can get an autonomous and independent prototype Medical Workstation (MW). In this way, the medical workstation offers all the necessary hardware and software to perform the tasks on the target context. As a consequence of the use of these MW we can get Mobility in the use and access to DMR, as well as exploit the use of mobile devices like PDAs and Tablets. To achieve this purpose the use of DMR must be contextualized, adapting the information available from it to the concrete medical assistance and the context of demand, avoiding superfluous and impertinent information as well as access through complex DMR navigation systems. This contextualization is made through pertinence relations, that relate each data in the DMR with the context in which the data is used, assigning pertinence values in [0,1] interval. With these values we can give more priority to the visualization of the DMR to the most relevant information, according to the assistance in process.
