Abstract :
This article deals with the design of high voltage capacitive probes for Blumlein pulsed forming line diagnostic. The pulsed forming line feeds a microwave generator working with the virtual cathode (vircator). Because of this type of generator belongs to High Power Microwave (HPM) generator class it is necessary to use special methods of high pulsed voltage measurement when the peak voltage could be about hundreds of kilovolts. This article describes a practical realization of the spherical capacitive probe for pulse forming line input voltage measurement and the cylindrical capacitive probe for pulse forming line output voltage measurement.
