  • Abstract
    A novel mixed equalizer based on a soft decision feedback (M-SDFE) is proposed to overcome Inter Symbol Interference (ISI) in the high speed communication system in this paper. Unlike the conventional DFE, the feed forward filter component is updated with adaptive algorithm and the feedback filter component is updated with decision directed (DD) adaptive algorithm in the proposed M-SDFE. Computer simulations are performed to prove the efficiency of the proposed method in frequency selective Rayleigh fading channels. The obtained simulation results using single carrier (SC) WiMAX (IEEE 802.16–2004) radio standard have demonstrated that the proposed M-SDFE method has considerably better performance than conventional DFE (LMS-DFE, RLS-DFE) and the hard DFE (HDFE) methods.
