Abstract
A single-tone test performed on a GaN HEMT is used to discuss the validity of using a single input-output time domain relation involving only two variables as a behavioral model of the device. The measured and simulated results for a simple time domain nonlinear transfer model suggest that the hidden dependence on other variables might limit the accuracy of its predictions under arbitrary power and load conditions.
