Abstract :
This paper proposes a platform that allows the users to transparently interconnect instances of the software audio signal processing engine without the need of a custom implemented data transport hardware. The platform is focused on distributing the signal processing across different computers in order to increase the overall quality of the signal processing and/or to ensure a more convenient sound reproduction distribution. The design aims to the use of this platform for software audio signal processing in cost-effective audiophile loudspeaker systems or for professional use in stage audio reproduction distribution and management, taking full advantage of the new personal computer hardware products.
