Abstract :
This paper provides an exact and rapidly converging infinite-series expression for average fade duration (AFD) of a dual selection combining (SC) system over correlated Rician fading channels in the presence of arbitrary number of Nakagami distributed cochannel interference (CCI) signals. The branch selection is based on the desired signal power algorithm. The input signals are assumed to be correlated which is real scenario in practical dual diversity system with insufficient antenna spacing. The mathematical formalism is illustrated by presenting some numerical results/plots showing the influence of the fading severity, number of CCI signals and correlation on the AFD of diversity system operating in microcell environment.
