Abstract :
In helmet mounted display systems (HMDS), it necessary to convert interlaced videos coming from infrared sensors to progressive ones before the other image processing steps. This process should be real-time such that it will not cause extra latency. The spatial methods, for which it is sufficient to buffer some interlaced lines, are suitable for these requirements. In this study, this type of spatial methods are applied on infrared videos, compared and implemented on Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) hardware.
