Abstract :
We present a detailed experimental and numerical study of the supercontinuum generation in a three-hole silica suspended-core fiber with possible applications to imaging techniques, such as spectroscopy or optical coherence tomography. The fiber has a core diameter of 1.7 μm and 0.36 μm thick struts. Numerical dispersion and mode analysis based on the finite-element method yield for the fundamental mode a zero group velocity dispersion (GVD) point at 796 nm. For the three lowest order modes pulse propagation along the fiber is simulated using the generalized nonlinear Schrδdinger equation.
