Abstract
Digital divide is observed as very negative phenomenon of modern society. Therefore, European Union, as well as Republic of Croatia, undertakes different measures to decrease it as much as possible. This paper presents the business planning methods for profitability of investments for different broadband internet access technologies in rural areas of Republic of Croatia. The different broadband technologies have been analyzed and compared: ADSL2+, VDSL2, HFC, GPON, ETTH, PLC, WIMAX and SAT, respectively. Furthermore, the financial flow during the period of several years has been performed, as well as the absolute and relative relationships of the respective implementation costs are presented.
