Abstract :
Healthcare domain represents rapidly evolving area and produces large number of dedicated and specialized services. Most of these services have unique and closed interfaces and that disables an opportunity to reuse them in creating integrated applications adhering to real healthcare processes. Moreover, considering information technologies as key step toward better and cheaper public healthcare, a need for enterprise or national level healthcare system is emerging. The envisioned future integrated healthcare system will put a patient in the centre of healthcare processes and in its core will be patient´s electronic medical record. Besides healthcare services such as patient monitoring system, the enterprise healthcare systems will benefit from classic telecommunications and Internet services such as presence, voice, video and messaging. Service composition solutions and enterprise networks deploying Internet and communications services can be used as enablers for creating unified health applications. This paper describes the service integration baseline for the unified health applications.
