Abstract :
In the paper a circular version of wavelet orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (Circular Wavelet-OFDM), which can be called also a circular discrete wavelet multitone (Circular-DWMT), is introduced and its application in power line communications (PLC) is proposed and tested. Especially, the method robustness against harmful narrowband and impulsive disturbances is evaluated and compared with the immunity of some other modulation schemes: OFDM, Windowed-OFDM, Wavelet-OFDM as well as a circular sine/cosine Wilson (Gabor) modulator. A special attention is paid to the influence of channel equalization in Wavelet-OFDM on transmission bit error rate (BER).
