Abstract :
The paper presents a framework consisting of different hospital departments and general practitioners healthcare information systems supporting interoperability between software solutions. The goal is to improve the medical workflow and processes in obstetrics - gynecology department, pediatrics department and general practitioner offices using communication documents (HL7 Clinical Document Architecture and Continuity of Care Document), giving the possibility of extending this to other hospital departments, laboratory and other medical units. In order to technically support the physician´s activity a smart tool, using XML files to load different structures where is needed, is proposed.
