Abstract
Thermography is a biologically inert diagnostic method which measures temperature differences across the skin surface using a highly sensitive infrared camera. In oncology, application of this method is based on one of the biological characteristics of carcinogenesis - the rise in metabolic activity of proliferating tumor which is accompanied by an increase in surrounding temperature. We report 3 cases of diagnosed local recurrence using thermography surveillance, compared to magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and pathohistlogical point to thermography that can provide additional promising tool to accepted surveillance procedures used in today´s everyday clinic efforts.
