Abstract :
In February 2010 the Commission issued Decision 2010/115/EU amending annex II to directive 2000/53/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on end-of-life vehicles. This Commission Decision, among other things, significantly affects the issue of soldering of electrical and electronic equipment in the automotive industry by the temporary permitting of solders containing lead. The amendment evidently confirm significant application problems related to the use of lead-free technology and subsequent decrease in reliability of manufactured devices.
