  • Abstract
    This paper presents the concept of virtual machines in a Linux environment and structure of the virtual machine. The role of virtualization in grid computing is explained. It is shown how virtualization can be used to develop a grid site. The paper describes the implemented grid site at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Pristina. Also, it was shown how to use virtualization for achieving higher utilization of the available resources.
