Abstract
Demand for information, transmission speed with which information can get from provider to user is rapidly growing in the modern times. Establishing a connection has never been so easy as nowadays. Optical communication systems working in a free environment (FSO - Free Space Optics) are becoming very popular. Using FSO solutions of the so called last mile can be resolved within a few hours and without any legitimate self administration, putting cabling in the ground or without infrastructure improvements. Currently, lasers are so powerful that they allow transmitting signal from behind the glass window, thus increasing the possibility of in-door placement and security of FSO systems. But still the visibility of transmission and environmental impact of environment on the signal transmitted remains a big problem. This paper deals in detail with a description of the instrument for measuring the density of fog, humidity and temperature of the environment. Long-term measurement of these parameters allows us to create models for optical signal transmission in FSO systems.
