Abstract :
This paper deals with the modelling and controlling of an uncertain biotechnological process. More precisely, in the first part we estimate the biomass concentrations in a biotechnological process by using interval observers. Since the modelling of these processes is uncertain, only some bounds of the biomass concentrations can be estimated by using two appropriate interval observers. The second part refers to designing a nonlinear model predictive control structure for the process. The effectiveness and performance of these interval observers as well as of the predictive control strategy are illustrated by numerical simulations.
