Abstract
We present the device designed for compensation of amplifier phase drifts. Low phase drift is the crucial factor in modern, large scale synchronization systems. It degrades the long term performance of the timing distribution to remote devices. The device is used to compensate phase drifts of RF high power amplifiers (range of 50W) installed in the XFEL particle accelerator synchronization system. In this paper the realization of the amplifier drift compensator is described and critical issues that limit the device performance are presented. The phase drift measurement system is shown. The amplifier compensator was tested with the AM38-1.3S-23-43 high power amplifier of Microwave Amps Ltd. Measurement results are presented.
