Abstract
The paper brings an analysis of written exams results at courses concerning control engineering, held for students of Faculty of Electrical Engineering at University of Ljubljana. Just before the beginning of the written exam, the students were asked to forecast their result, according to their expected knowledge. After the completion of the test, they were asked to give another forecast of their result, now according to their experience. Then, the students were given correct solutions with scoring plan to self-evaluate their tests. Finally, these results were compared with the professor´s results and followed by oral examination. Analysis shows, that for students of academic study program, in average, forecast prior to the exam exceeds actual result for 3.70 % points, and forecast after the exam exceeds the actual result for 3.19 % points. In average, student´s own evaluation is 1.78 % points below the actual result. Figures for students of professional study program are much more exciting: in average, their forecast prior to the exam exceeds actual result for 25.81 % points; forecast after the exam exceeds the actual result for 8.99 % points and their own evaluation lacks the actual result for 2.80 % points.
