Abstract :
We present modulation of the output from an active mode locked fiber ring laser by using an EDF absorber, which is excited optically by another emission source of which its energy is able to excite the absorption of the energy levels of the EDF. It is attractive for optical-optical signal control and provides an effective modulation and switching of a fiber laser signal with high modulation depth and comparable in fiber structure.
