Abstract
In this paper the Optimised Link State Routing (OLSR) protocol is presented as an enabler for cooperative transmission in autonomic emergency networks. First of all, following certain modifications to OLSR, cooperative transmission may be embedded into this protocol in a seamless way. It is possible thanks to common aspects between the concept of Virtual Antenna Arrays (VAA) and Multi-Point Relay (MPR) selection heuristics. Further on, OLSR exposes readability for being incorporated into the framework of autonomic networking as it may be configured in terms of willingness for performing specific operations.
