Abstract :
In many applications of the FDTD method, functionals of the magnetic and electric field components, such as power density, must be computed. Since the field components are mutually shifted by the algorithm, interpolation is needed. This article proposes an interpolation scheme which can be used in the presence of field discontinuities due to material inhomogeneities.
