Introducing fixed-mobile number portability — Croatian case

Issues about voluntary implementation of fixed-mobile number portability and whole series of elements that have influence on it are the main interest of this paper. The purpose of this research was to see the current situation of evaluation and identification of elements, which shows us if there is a need, as well as barriers for that kind of implementation. Also, this research focuses on theoretical and practical need for introducing fixed mobile number portability in Croatia. Specifically, how would modernization and adaptation affect the market through the users themselves, and what are its advantages and disadvantages. Furthermore, one of the objectives is to show the necessary methods and procedures when implementing fixed mobile number portability, as well as any preliminary work which has to be undertaken, including the new functionality of the central administrative database of ported numbers.
