Abstract :
The paper shows application of nontraditional excitation signal Sinc for metal detection and discrimination of detected objects. It also briefly describes characterization of Sinc signal. Head of the All Terrain Mine Detector is used for experiment. Various spheres from different materials and with different diameters were placed in non-magnetic platform in the open air as a test target. Signal was processed in frequency domain. Spectra graphs are presented to differentiate between the different objects. On the basis of these graphs, better identification and discrimination between these objects (i.e. Anti-Personnel mines or UXO) could be done.
