Abstract :
This paper presents a real life localization scenario. A small scale network based on Xbee transceivers is used in order to verify positioning algorithms. The localization method is RSSI based; the algorithms used for localization are maximum likelihood estimation, weighted centroid localization, Malguki spring, modified multidimensional scaling and iterative trilateration. The algorithm performance is evaluated based on the positioning error and on their computational time. An optimization criterion is proposed.
