Abstract :
Health effects of human exposure to low-frequency magnetic fields are subject of controversies in the scientific society. From the technical point of view electromagnetic fields are inevitable in human environment. The paper demonstrates that practically only low-frequency magnetic fields are candidates to produce biological effects. The outcomes of the experimental work show no excessive field levels compared to the safety limits from standards. However occasional monitoring of the telecom working environment is advisable. The presented simple monitoring equipment design example enables telecom operators to check their workers environment compliance with standards at low extra cost for the circuitry.
