Abstract
This work presents an adaptive nonlinear PID control applied in a single-phase Phase-Locked Loop algorithm. In the design methodology adopted, the gains obtained by using conventional PID tuning techniques, are applied to a nonlinear function that determines dynamically the PID gains, which is a function of the input signal, usually the output-to-reference error. This adjustment provides a more efficient PLL operation from the viewpoint of performance and robustness as compared to conventional PID. The response time for synchronism has been reduced by 2.3 times in relation to linear PI.L.
