Abstract :
Cloud Computing is a revolutionary model that offers everything as a service (storage, servers, network, etc.). It enables users to outsource their data and entrust a service provider with its storage and processing. However, we are doing with resource-limited environment where users compete to have enough resources for their tasks. Thus, a resource allocation model is needed for a better utilization of shared resources. In this paper, we will present an overview of the resource allocation models adopted in literature. We will focus essentially on game theoretic approaches for resource allocation. A comparative study is given at the end of this paper. To this purpose, a set of criteria have been defined so as to assess the performance of the proposed game models with respect to cloud computing needs.
